Dr. Christopher R. Schmid, Research Advisor at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Stratford, NJ, died of cancer on December 26, 2007. He was born in 1959 to Richard and Neida Schmid. Upon completing his PhD at Princeton University in Organic chemistry and a post-doctoral position at UC-Berkeley, Dr. Schmid joined Eli Lilly and Company in 1987. He provided scholarships for and traveled to the Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST), and was a founding member of Christian Leaders for Africa (CLA) and an officer for Light of the World Ministries. He served at Faith Missionary Church as Deacon chair and supported individual missionary work.
